The Walk of Freedom

As we approach summer, isn’t it fascinating to be distracted by the chirping of birds who are about their business once the sun comes out? These birds literally come to wake me up in the morning, as though they are aware that I must start my day early! I mean, before now, I would not even give a hoot about birds but given our new reality where the world has to stop and embrace change and uncertainty, I now have to notice the little things which existed long ago but went unnoticed because of our daily routines of living.

I went for a walk two days ago to calm my mind and for the first time in a long time, marvelled at the wonder of nature. The trees were so green and beautiful whilst providing me with some shade, away from the scorching sun who cared not about whether her heat was too much for me or just enough. The flowers bloomed and the sky was gloriously blue and sometimes white because of the clouds. I just became humble and said to myself:

“God is great”

In that moment, I felt His Peace and was just glad to soak in the beauty I had ignored for a long time. Here is the point: We only see what we want to see but there are wonders we need to behold in this season. Yes, even in this season where a lot is happening in the world right now. Look for that beauty and marvel at it. There are many wonders in the world too deep to be understood at first and until you search and find that wonder, you just might keep drowning in troubled waters.

“Do not worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His Peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus” Philippians 4:6–7

Love and Light,
